From Director General’s Desk

International Centre for Environment Audit and Sustainable Development (iCED) has been set-up under the aegis of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG) for capacity building and knowledge sharing in the area of environment audit. It is a designated Global Training Facility (GTF) of the Working Group on Environmental Audit (WGEA) since March 2011, as well as of the Working Group on Extractive Industries (WGEI) of International Organizations of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) since August 2016. iCED also conducts training programmes on Environment Audit under the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC) sponsored by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

Besides, iCED conducts considerable national capacity building on audit of environmental and sustainable development issues for in-house programmes of SAI India.

Till date iCED has trained almost 6081 international and national participants.Along with focussed and specialised capacity building, iCED has a vibrant in-house research wing related to audit processes including all the governance structures connected with the environment and sustainable development.

iCED now opens a new pathway by also morphing into a specialised Centre of Excellence on the Audit of the Blue Economy, in keeping with the Comptroller & Auditor General of India’s vision of harnessing SAI India’s decade long experience in conducting environmental audits, to sharpen the knowledge base of public auditors, in this complex emerging area.
